Camogli Cafe

I'm trying to do some smaller (for me anyway) paintings for my upcoming show this October. This  one is from my Italy  painting trip and the town of Camogli. Tucked away in the back of a huge church was this charming seaport and restaurants all around.  Even though this one is painted from a photo I did paint it outside, taking advantage of the beautiful ,well deserved summer here in New Jersey. I've included my steps .  Camogli Café   20" x 14" for sale this October at The Hilltop Country Day School Annual Art Show and Sale. Check my Events page for details.

En Plein Air painting, Cross Estate, NJ

Every Wednesday, weather permitting painters go out to paint the New Jersey landscape and landmarks. Last Wednesday I went to the Cross Estate, a lovely mansion with beautiful gardens, now a state park. Since it was nice weather I thought I'd find lots of painting pals BUT I was the only one there. I thought I had the location wrong but on the way back to my car I met Kim and Bill painting in the parking lot. We chatted, I made new friends and talked them into joining New Jersey Water Color Society (I'm President and love to have new members). I painted a half sheet watercolor in the bright sunlight then called it quits for the day. Here's the scene and then my painting. The Cross Estate 14"x 20". You can buy it on my Daily Paint Works site, go to DPW from my home page lower left corner...just click.
